  • When her father died and her lover left, no one ever saw Miss Emily leave her home or take care of her home as well. A smell started to grow from her home.
  • I think it is best if someone talks to the mayor about this! This is absurd!
  • The house has this strong or! Someone please do something about it
  • But what will you have me do about it, ma'am?
  • Why, send her word to stop it! Isn't there a law?
  • The people of the town would complain to the mayor of the horrible smell but the mayor had no idea of what to do for it.
  • will you accuse a lady to her face of smelling bad?
  • I'd be the last one in the world to bother Miss Emily, but we’ve got to do something

  • The following day, even more people came to voice their thoughts on the nasty smell. Still, the mayor of the town felt bad to complain to Miss Emily.

  • The following night, four men decided they could not take it anymore and thought to do something about that ugly smell.
  • There is just no way this woman can actually live like this.
  • I feel for Miss Emily. All we can do is hope she does not become like her aunt. At least we can say the smell is gone.
  • The people talked about the previous night and how they had seen Miss Emily all alone by her window. They thought she would go crazy just like her great-aunt did.
  • Miss Emily! I am truly sorry for your loss.
  • I am not sure what you are talking about. Beautiful day isn't it?
  • The house was the last thing Miss Emily had from her father. People would come to pay their respects but Miss Emily acted like nothing had happened. It was worrying at times.
