Storyboard Text

  • " I di'n't forget, you bet, God damn. Hide in the brush and wait for George. George gonna give me hell, George gonna wish he was alone an' not have me botherin' him. I can go off right there an' find a cave. An' never have no ketchup-but I won't care. If George don't want me...I'll go away. I'll go away."
  • Lennie ran away because he accidentally killed Curley's wife. He is now waiting in the brush for George.
  • "I tried and tried but I couldn't help myself. I'll go right off in the hills an' I'll fin' a cave an' I'll live there so I won't be no more trouble to George."
  • Aunt Clara appeared in front of Lennie and told him about how he treats George. George does nice things for Lennie all the time but Lennie always makes things harder for him.
  • "I told you over and over again. George takes cares of you and all you do is mess things up."
  • "He won't. He won't do nothing like that. I know George. Me an' him travels together. He ain't, I tell ya he ain't. Oh! George-George-George!"
  • "He's gonna beat hell outta you with a stick, that's what he's gonna do.  He's gonna beat hell outta you an' then go away an' leave you."
  • After Aunt Clara went back to Lennie's head, a rabbit came out next and told Lennie about what George was going to do to him and how he was going to leave him.
  • The rabbit went back inside his head and George came quietly from behind the brush. Him and Lennie started to talk. George told Lennie that he wasn't going to leave him and he told him all things he could if he were on his own.
  • "Well ain't you gonna say it?"
  • "If I was alone I could live so easy. I could could get a job an' not have no mess. An' when the end of the month come I could take my fifty bucks an' go to a...cat house..."
  • Lennie asked George to tell him about the farm and how it's going to be. George is preparing to kill Lennie.
  • "An' live on the fatta the lan'."
  • "We'll have a cow, an' we'll have maybe a pig an' chickens...an' down the flat we'll have a... little piece alfalfa for the rabbits."
  • In the final scene, George shoots Lennie in the back of his head. Lennie is dead.
