Old Major gathers the other animals for a meeting and inspires them to revolt.
When Old Major dies, Napoleon and Snowball continue his work and lead the others in driving off the drunken farmer. They then begin to read and write. The pigs come up with seven commandments where all animals have rights.
Napoleon gets rid of Snowball because he thinks he will overthrow him. Napoleon blames Snowball for incidents happening on the farm and any animal that conspires with Snowball would be slaughtered by Napoleon's dogs. Napoleon and the other pigs begin taking on human qualities like walking upright. The pigs seemed to have changed the commandments and animals are no longer equal.
