Storyboard Text

  • I wonder how far this will go if I kick it
  • Wow! So velocity is the same as speed?
  • That uses Newton's first law of motion and velocity
  • So  why don't I do flying at the same speed as the baseball?
  • Velocity has a direction attached, called a vector quantity! Actually you also Newton's third law as well
  • To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction
  • Would the ball be at equilibrium if there were no outside forces acting upon it?What's acceleration?
  • That's Because of Newton's second law a=F/mbecause you have a greater mass, you don't accelerate as much
  • 1 Kg
  • So I exerted a force on the baseball, which caused it to accelerate! That's how it moved.
  • Acceleration is the change in velocity over time. Acceleration is caused by a force.
  • So if the ball has the mass of 1kg and i applied a force of 200 N and there was no friction the net force would be 200N
  • Your're really getting the hang of this
