  • The states-general took place on May 5, 1789. The commanders and the British were coming together to talk about the taxes. This was the start of the french revolution. King Louis XVI opened the session with a speech. The commanders also had a lead in the number of people that were there.
  •  Declaration of the Rights of Man and the CitizenAugust 26, 1789
  • Lets hope that this will help our individual rights. 
  • The tennis court oath is also known as (Serment du Jeu de Paume). Jean-Sylvain Bailly was a leading person at the tennis court oath. This is where they took an oath that said that they would not separate until a new constitution was passed. They meet at this place before the national meeting. This lead to the national assembly.

  • This is the scene of the storming of the Bastile. Parisian revolutionaries and mutinous troops storm. They take over the bastille and everyone and everything in it. This is when King Louis XVI was executed. This leads to the overthrow of King Louis XVI and the French Revolution.

  • This is when the declaration of the rights of man and the citizens was signed. They had hopes that it would make things better. It was adopted by the national constitutional assembly.
  • This is when the women of Versailles marched. They marched because of the high prices and scarcity of bread. They hoped to make a change. This happened on October 5, 1789. This eventually forced the royals to return back to Paris.
  • King Louis XVI was trying to leave the town with his family. He took his wife and other immediate families. They tried to escape from Paris. They was leaving because in order to avoid retribution from the revolutionaries. They failed their attempt to leave.
