Storyboard Text

  • No more immigration from Texas, only from Mexico and Europe.
  • look we are speaking english.
  • This is not good, we need to enforce a law here!
  • We are not Roman Catholic
  • lets wright down what we want for Texas.
  • Firstly the Mexican government saw that there were too many US citizens in Texas than Anglos or people who are from Mexico, so Mexico cut off immigration from the US to Texas and allowed immigration from Mexico and Europe instead which got Texans very mad.
  • Hopefully my people get me out of here soon.
  • Then Mexico sent Mier Y Teran to go and see if the people living in Texas were following the rules, they weren't so the Mier Y Teran Report is what basically started the Law of April 6th.
  • A man named William Travis was protesting in Mexico City and got arrested by Santa Anna. Also texans got very mad at The Law of April 6th that they met at the nearest lake and wrote the Turtle Bayou Resolutions.
  • What do we want and what would make Texas better?
  • In the Turtle Bayou Resolutions they wrote that they supported Santa Anna, they would follow the Constitution of 1824, then they planned on getting a cannon from the Mexican government and saving Travis from jail.
  • In the Battle of Velasco was the first time there were shots between Mexico and Texas, Texans were in boats with the cannon firing at the Mexicans while the Mexicans were firing back at the Texans, very few people died in this battle.
  • Lastly the Conventions of 1832 and 1833, was where Texans wrote what they wanted like to Texas to be free, remove custom duties, and allow immigration. All of these things led up to the Texas Revolution.
