Storyboard Text

  • Hello, today we are here today to focus on WED, aka weathering, erosion, and deposition.
  • As we noticed this giant structure known as the Wave Rock, you could start to wonder about how it was made. Weathering and erosion could have something to do with this.
  • However, it does not include deposition which is the laying down of sediments. You can usually find this happening at the bottom of a lake or pond.
  • Well, weathering is the process of chemically and physically breaking down a rock. In this case, it did chemical processes called hydrolysis and hydration.
  • Erosion is the movement of the remaining sediment after weathering. Soft bits of the Wave Rock were able to get eroded to form what it is today.
