Storyboard Text

  • the process by which heat or electricity is directly transmitted through a substance when there is physical contact
  • conduction
  • the movement caused within a fluid by the tendency of hotter and therefore less dense material to rise, and colder, denser material to sink under the influence of gravity, which consequently results in transfer of heat.
  • convection
  • radiation
  • Thermal radiation is one of the three principal mechanisms of heat transfer. It entails the emission of a spectrum of electromagnetic radiation due to an object's temperature.
  • the red triangle is touching the blue triangle and is transferring heat by doing so
  • the heat from the fire pushes the warm air around the room causing it to get cooler, then the cold air gets pushed back twords the fire and repaetes the cycle
  • The fire is putting off heat causing the area around it to heat up.
