Storyboard Text

  • Hi Kiara! I was looking for you everywhere! I was wondering if you could help me with this math question?
  • Sure Blake, I'd love to.
  • Okay. Here it is, –17 – t – (t + 3). What should we do first?
  • Well we need to get rid of the parenthesis and since there is a negative sing in front of the parenthesis we change the sign of each term
  • So the new expression is -17-t-t-3!
  • Now we need to collect like terms, correct?
  • Yes. Our like terms are -17 and -3 and also terms -t and -t.
  • -17 and -3 together make -20.
  • Yes. Since just "t" is like 1t we will do -t +-t = -2t. So our finial answer is -20-2t.
  • Bye Kiara! Thanks for the help.
  • No problem Blake! See you soon.
