  • The smaller states (New jersey) wanted equal powers whether their state was small or big, meanwhile the bigger state (Virginia) wanted representation based on state population
  • The great compromise, 1787

  • Virginia should have way much power because we have a bigger population
  • Every state should have the same power and equality
  • The connecticut compromise gave every state two votes and equal power.

  • the federalists wanted the constitution to limit the power of the government and thought the bill of rights was an unnecessary document but as the name suggests the anti-federalists thought the constitution was fair and that the bill of rights was needed

  • while the rich anti-federalists didn't worry about a thing the federalists worked the fields and tried to come up with a solution to the problem they faced
  • massachusetts compromise
  • as time passed the federalists and anti-federalists came to an agreement and the federalists won the case because the constitutions rules were changed a bit
