  • When Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette became king and queen they caused many issues such as, spending lots of money on fashion which resulted in debt and also not allowing the 3rd Estate to have a say in the government.
  • After being kicked out of the Estates General building, the 3rd Estate gathered at nearby tennis court and made themselves the National Assembly.  They promised not to split up until they wrote a constitution. They voted to end noble's privileges such as making it so noble's: couldn't collect dues from peasants, agreed to pay taxes, and all males could hold positions in government, army, and church.
  • Mob attacked a prison called Bastille to steal weapons to defend the National Assembly. Peasants robbed granaries, broke into houses, and destroyed records.
