Prometheus created mankind from clay and water and Prometheus took pride in his creation. He cared for them as well as felt bad for them. He gave them many things like intelligence and knowledge.
Fighting Between Gods
Zeus and his siblings, The Olympians , defeated their father, Cronos and became the supreme beings of earth and Zeus was their leader. Zeus was the King of all Gods.
Fall From Innocence
Humanity had to make a sacrifice to Zeus. Zeus then had to choose which part of the ox he wanted. He eventually chose what he wanted, but Prometheus tricked him and gave him bones under the meat which insulted Zeus. This eventually leads to Zeus threatening Prometheus and taking fire away from humanity.
Prometheus disobeyed Zeus and stole fire for mankind. Due to this betrayal, Prometheus was chained to a rock for the rest of eternity and his liver was pecked at by an eagle. Zeus would also throw lightning at him.
"Most crafty rebel! How dare you steal fire for your frail creatures after I have forbidden them to use it! I see that I must teach you how much more powerful I am tha you are!"
To punish Prometheus and mankind even more, Zeus gave Pandora a boz and gave her curiosity but told her never to open the box. She eventually opened the box and all of the world's eveil were released except for Hope. Therefore torturing mankind for the rest of eternity
"Given Pandora's inherently evil nature, in time she will open this jar. And, as soon as she removes the lid, all of its contents-except forr Hope- will fly , never to be confined again!"
Zeus tried to destroy mankind by sending a flood, but Prometheus was able to warn his son Deucalion. Deucalion and his wife were able to survive the flood by building a chest. They then repopulated the earth.
"Early in his bondage, he warned his son Deucalion about the great flood that Zeus was sending to destroy the entire human race. The clever Titan told Deucalion how to build a chest that would hold his wife, himself, and provisions to sustain them for a long sea journey."
