- Queen Elizabeth died in 1603. James I becomes king. Charles I which is James I son believes in Divine Right of Kings Starts conflict with parliament which has power, money issues, and religious issues. he also continues the issues. Charles I ignores the Petition of Power.
- Civil War starts in 1603. Cavaliers also known as the kings and the Roundheads also known as parliament are fighting. The Roundheads win the civil war. Oliver Cromwell become leader of parliaments army.
- I want to leave. I'm fleeing to France
- We are out of here!
- Goodbye!
- They purged parliament of king supporters. Charles I was beheaded as well as abolished monarchy. Cromwell creates a military dictatorship. Oliver Cromwell dies. Charles II restored the monarchy.
- Lets start working with Parliament again. How can we make that happen?
- Get rid of Divine Right of Kings
- James II which is Charles II brother becomes king. James II is openly catholic which worries parliament. Parliament invites William of Orange and his wife Mary to invade.
- James II has little to no support. His soldiers deserted him. He flees to France. William and Mary win their fight with little to no blood shed.
- William and Mary are offered the throne. William and Mary make the English Bill of Rights. The English Bill of Rights make it to where monarchy and parliament are working together. There is no longer Divine Right of Kings. Bill of Rights turns England into a constitutional monarchy.
