Storyboard Text

  • Dad, what do vitamins do for our body?
  • They help your body function properly and process other nutrients.
  • I've felt very tired lately. I've also been having balance and memory problems.
  • You may have a  vitamin B12 deficiency. This can be treated with a water-soluble vitamin. This is a vitamin that can be dissolved by water and is not stored in the body.
  • What can I do to treat this?
  • You need to eat foods containing water-soluble vitamins because they are not stored in the body, and are lost when you go to the bathroom.
  • Fat soluble vitamins are vitamins that are stored in the fat like A, D, K, and E.  A is found in carrots. D is found in milk. E is found in vegetable oil. K is found in broccolii.
  • What happens if you have too many fat-soluble vitamins?
  • Fat soluble vitamins are vitamins that are stored in the fat like A, D, K, and E.  A is found in carrots. D is found in milk. E is found in vegetable oil. K is found in broccolii.
  • Too much of one fat-soluble vitamin can poison your body, cause the breakdown of red blood cells, and cause liver damage.
