  • Tension had been rising in Boston since the British soldiers first arrived in 1768.
  • Fist fights between soldiers and colonies were common sight in the street
  • On March 5,1770 the city was ready to explode, when angry colonist surrounded Hugh White and his men, the soldiers panicked. They fired into the crowd killing 5 people.This event is the Boston Massacre.
  • One of the victims was Crispus Attucks he was born into slavery and escaped it at the age of 27, he began working as a sailor.
  • On the night of the shooting he led a group of sailers to the scene of the protest.
  • The British soldiers were put on trial murder in Boston and were defended in court. The court ruled that the soldiers weren't guilty.
