The drought has just hit us and we need to find a way out before its too late.
We don't need anybody's help.
We don't have much food to eat and no where else to go.
Stock market crash, bank failures, reduction in purchasing across the board, american economic policy with Europe, and drought conditions I think the drought conditions is most important, because farmers then had no way to farm.
Roosevelt's New Deal
The government spends too much money.
Rugged Individualism is the term that indicates the virtuous ideal where an individual is totally self-reliant and independent from outside assistance. Hoover feared using too much of “Government” to solve the nation’s problems, because it would injure the “initiative enterprise of the American people.”
Roosevelt's Second Bill of Rights
We want security!
Hoovervilles are shanty towns that cropped up across the nation, primarily on the outskirts of major cities. Life in a Hooverville was horrible, because they had everyone had a health risk, there was grim, and it was unsanitary.
New Deal Success or Failure
The New Deal isn't working very well.
Roosevelt’s New Deal was involved with regulation and reform of the banking system, massive government spending, and the creation of a social services network.
Roosevelt’s Second Bill of Rights was rights for security and prosperity for all regardless of station, race, or creed. I agree, because everyone should feel safe in their environment and want to be there.
I feel the New Deal was a failure, because too many people criticized the New Deal. It didn’t help preserve freedom, and people were trying to make rich people pay higher taxes.
