  • In our case the bill started in the Senate so the next step is to get approval from the House of Representatives.
  • I do not agree with this bill, please send it back to Congress and tell them to do a better job next time.
  • ^
  • I am in full support of this bill and would love to sign it, I just need to find my pen.
  •   With 238 members of the House of Representatives voting ¨yea" the bill will now be sent to the president. If the house did not approve the bill, a conference committee is formed with members from both houses. Once the conference committee has made an agreement, the bill is sent back to both houses for approval.  Now that the bill is in the presidents hands they have three options.
  • I am not sure what I sould do with this bill so I am not going to sign or veto it.
  • The first option is to veto the bill if they do not like it.
  • The second option for the president is to approve the bill.
  • The third option for the president is to pocket veto. This can only be used when congress is going out of session in less than ten days. THe president would use this when they do not want to sign or veto a bill for political reasons.  But if Congress is staying in session for more than ten days and the president neither signs or vetoes it it will become a law without his signature.
