Hi, I am an Atmospheric Scientist. I am here to tell you all about my job. I spend my days researching the weather and climate changes, and how those conditions affect human activity and the earth in general.
To be an Atmospheric Scientist, you are going to have to be persistent, and well educated. Speaking of education, you will need a bachelors degree in meteorology or a related field. This will take about 4 years of education from a university like UNC, or UNT.
Atmospheric Scientist jobs are expected to grow 9% in the next 10 years. This is faster than average. Starting pay is 50k, pay after 5-10 years is 100k, and pay after 10-20 years is 140k. We work inside in weather stations, offices, or laboratories.
