"Belle! I have a very nice, splendid, rather wonderful surprise for you!"
"No yelling, or roaring, or growling..."
"All right, Belle. Open your eyes."
"Do you like the surprise, Belle?"
"Like it? I love it!"
The Beast plans on giving Belle access to his library since he knows that she loves books. This is his way of showing her that he is not crazy but caring and thoughtful.
After leading her up a long stair case and unlocking the door to the massive library, the Beast tells Belle to open her eyes and enjoy the surprise.
I chose this scene because it proves to be a vital point for the rest of the novel. After Belle cleans the library, she discovers a secret room. It contains a "living" book and this helps to develop the plot. It also shows the blossoming relationship between her and the Beast.
