Riki Tiki is a mongoose and the main character of the story. The story is about him protecting the garden and the bungallow from two snakes that play the villains.
Nag and Nagaina are a snake couple that are fighting to clear the garden for their new babies. They are the main villains or antagonists of the story and both get killed during their fight with Riki-Tiki.
Darzee and His wife
They are the normal father and mother couple. The mother is quite easly scared, and the father is your typical father with wisdom and common sense. They have both acepted Riki Tiki as part of their family and as their faithful protecter.
Teddy is the son of the mother and father. He is good friends with Riki Tiki. Teddy seems to be a good child because he wanted to have a funeral for a washed away mongoose. In the story, Teddy was saved from being killed by the cobras by Riki Tiki.
Darzee and his wife are both tailbirds. They are also total opposites because Darzee loves to sing and dance, is ingorant, and acts like a child. On the other hand, Darzee's wife is practical and levelheaded. She also helps Riki Tiki on his quest to kill the cobras.
The chuchundra is a very timid and scared creature. For example, he begs Riki Tiki not to eat him on their first encounter. However, the chuchundra does help Riki Tiki in his battle with Nag and Nagaina.
