  • "Well, we ain't go any" George exploded. "What ever we ain't got, thats what you want. Gods a'mighty if i was alone i could live so easy.
  • Lennie smiled to himself "strong as a bull," he repeated George scowled at him, and Lennie dropped his head in shame at having forgotten.
  • "Well, you been askin me too often. I'm getting god damn sick of it. If you cant look after your own god damn wife , what you expect me to do about it."
  • In chapter one they ate there dinner before going to the ranch. While they were eating there dinner Lennie whines that he wants dinner. George gets frustrated with him and tells him he wants eveything they do not have. This shows the characters are getting annoyed with each other.  
  • "All right you guys" he said. "The niggers got a shotgun. you take it Carlson. When you see 'um. don't give 'I'm no chance . Shoot for his guts ."
  • during chapter 2 when the boss was talking to Lennie and George, Lennie talked by accident. George became annoyed and mad at him when he spoke because George told him not to say a word.
  • In chapter 3 some more drama happens at the bar. When Curley comes around asking where his wife his he asks skim where she is; Slim gets tired of Curley asking him all the time and get mad because of Curley
  • "George gonna give me hell." he said. "George gonna wish he was alone an' not have me botherin him."
  • Toward the middle of chapter 4 when mostly everyone went to town Lennie goes to crooks room. When he goes to look at the puppies he turns the light on and crooks isn't happy with this. Crooks gets irritated and tells him to leave.
  • Well, i gotta right to have the light on. You go on et outta my room. I aint wanted in the bunk house, and you aint wanted in my room."
  • During chapter 5 Lennie kills curleys wife by accident. All of the men are furious and are going to search for Lennie because they cant tolerate him anymore and his decisions.
  • In chapter 6 when Lennie is on the run from all the men on the ranch he takes a moment to talk to him self. He was talking about how George wont be able to tolerate him anymore and would wan to live alone.
