I went through my family's mail when I noticed a sealed, white envelope addressed to me. This collection of papers was sent from Holy Cross, a DIVISION 1 NCAA basketball College in Massachusetts! I opened the letter, quicker than any piece of mail I've ever received. They invited me to a workout!
What is it?
I can't believe someone finally noticed me, and I'm not even old enough for them to talk to me. I will eventually make it to D1.
I pushed myself to levels I never knew I could reach. This recognition and showing of interest injected purpose and energy that outweighed my mindset before the letter.
I CAN'T give up. I WON'T give up. I'll NEVER give up. Not until I succeed.
This simple, orange and black object, that is thrown around by millions of people every day, is my source of purpose in life. I received attention from certified professionals due to my skill and ability to work no matter what happens and never give up
And I will never give up, because as my former coach and mentor told me every time I stepped between those painted and sacred lines, "Eyes are always watching," and those eyes are going to be my gateway to achieving my D1 dream.
This experience and constant pursuit of success taught me some of the most valuable lessons of my life. I learned that no matter the circumstances if you find a passion and work when nobody's watching, your drive will create prosperity when those eyes take a glance.
