The narrator said that he is sick but not crazy, just nervous. He says the illness helped him not turned him insane.
The narrator loved the old man but hated his eye. He compared it to a vultures eye. He said he felt nervous around it.
So the narrator decided to kill the old man. He would go to his room every night and open a lamp very little so that it fell on the old mans eye. But it never did so he kept going to see the old man sleep.
Untill one day the narrator made a noise and the old man opened his eye. The narrator could hear the old man still awake. He decided it was the perfect time to kill the old man. He threw the bed on him and killed him.
He severed the limbs of the body. He then hid them under the floorboard. Then the doorbell rang. It was police officers. They said a neighbor heard a scream. He lead them to the old mans room and sat right abouve the floorboard where the narrator hid the body. Then they interrogated him.
mThe narrator ended up "hearing'' the old mans heart and confesed to killing the old man.
