Storyboard Text

  • Setting and Ponyboy
  • Hi, my name is Sodapop.
  • Hi, my name is PonyBoy.
  • Hi, my name is Darry.
  • Setting and Ponyboy
  • Ponyboy and Conflict
  • To Ponyboy, his home represents the importance of being with Darry and Sodapop. He explains their life when he says,"Since Mom and Dad were killed in an auto wreck, three of us get to stay together"(3).  Darry is the oldest and he took the house after the death of his parents. Darry is also the one who takes care of Soda and Pony.
  • Ponyboy's home is the home to his larger family of Greaser friends. "Our front door is always unlocked in case one of the boys is hacked off at his parents and needs a place to lay over and cool off"(105). Ponyboy's home brings him comfort because he would always have pillow fights and get ready for rumbles too.
  • The scene at the fountain when Pony was almost killed shows the Greasers and Socs hatred. " 'You know what a greaser is?' Bob asked. 'White trash with long hair' " (55).
