  • Battle Of Fort Sumter began in April 12-13 in 1861 in Fort Sumter in South Carolina. The Union was led by Major Robert Anderson with 80 soldiers and the Confederate side was led by Brigadier General P.G.T. Beauregard with 500 soldiers. In the end the confederate side won

  • The battle of Antietam was fought on September 17, 1862 at Sharpsburg, Maryland. General Lee led the Confedarate and General George led the Union army. The Union was led to victory as it was the winner of the battle. This battle was also considerd one of the single bloodiest day in the Civil War.

  • This Battle took place in May 18 ,1863 to July 4 1863. The general leading the Union was Ulysses S.Grant and the Leader of the confederate side was General John Pemborton. the reason why this battle began was because the North wanted to take the the major port but the south didn't want that because some states form the south would be cut off from supply lines from the south.This battle was a victoy for the Union side

  • The Emancipation Proclamation was made by Licoln. This act had the ability to allow for slaves to be free in Confedarate states. President Licoln wasnt trying to "abolish slavery" he wanted to be on good terms with the Union. Later on September 22 in 1862 the Proclamation was issued.

  • The battle of Gettysburg was in July 1863, once again between the confederate  and the union. The Confederate was led by Robert Lee and the union was led by George Meade. The Union won the battled. The reason why this battle is important was because it was the  second try for the Confederate to go ahead in go towards the North.

  • This battle was fought in April 9, 1865 Appomattox county.In this battle the Union won as the General , Lee, leading the confederate side gave up and surrendered his troops. This gesture led to the end of the Civil War and was important to history.
