  • Oxford dictionary defines an artist as “...a person who paints or produces other works of art. A person who does something with great skill.” There is no denying these works of graffiti take skill and passion to create. Therefore, graffiti is art.

  • Graffiti is an act of vandalism. Vandalism is clearly criminal and against the law. Whether graffiti is art or not is a judgement call but the law is clearly defined.

  • While this is true in a lot of places, that still doesn't invalidate the idea that graffiti is art. Whether the law appreciates it or not, it still took skill and effort to create. It's a personal opinion whether you like it but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be appreciated.

  • I guess you're right. I was too tied up in the idea that graffiti was vandalism and I couldn't recognize that it took time and effort to create.
