Salva is in class not listening at all. He is thinking about his family, Chores, and other things that are on her mind. Thoughts are racing in his head so it is hard for him to pay attention to what's going on in class.
Salva and other claasmates hear gunshots. They are all wondering whats going on. The teacher tells them to run into the bushes and go as far as you can.
After everybody runs into the bushes they contniued to run as far as they could go. Once they did they separated into different groups by village, In salva's group there were no little children but him. the grouped continued to walk. they want to see if they can find shelter and water.
Salva is walking with the other dinka tribesman and the other people who joined the group. The group was so large Salva does not know all the people who were in the group. One of the men turned out to be his uncle. When Salva finally finds his uncle he is so happy because he knows he has someone and he is not alone. He finally finds his confidence and continues with his journey.
Salva had to leave the refugee camp in Ethiopia so he has to go to one in Kenya. He finally made it to Kenya, but still had to walk to the refugee camp. Now he is making his way to the camp and hoping he will be their soon. He and the rest of the group had to walk at night because of the lions and animals they could not walk in the daytime.
Salva is sent to America to join his new family . They meet him at the airport and take him home. Now he has a nice home with nice family. He is able to have a meal and a place to stay everyday,
