  • Appearing on a banner that encircling the three pillars were the words “Wisdom,” “Justice,” and “Moderation”—with each word associated with one pillar. This later led one historian to conclude that “Wisdom” was to apply to the legislative branch in making the laws, “Justice” to the judicial branch in their decisions, and “Moderation” to the executive branch to administer laws in moderation. 
  • House of reps Qualifications-21 yrs of age, US citizen, Georgia resident, and local district resident for 1 year. Terms- 2 year terms Duties- include passing bills on public policy matters, setting levels for state spending, raising and lowering taxes, and voting to uphold or override gubernatorial vetoes. Elections- they are directly voted by the constituents of their district
  • Senate qualifications-25 yrs of age, US citizen, Georgia resident, and local district resident. Terms- 2 year terms Duties- Introduces legislation to the Georgia Senate Elections- they are directly voted by the constituents of their districts.
  • LT. Governor elected by popular vote The lieutenant governor's primary job is to serve as President of the Georgia State Senate. Speaker of House elected by fellow Members of the House to serve as their leader at the beginning of each two year term
  • governor at least 30 years old,   a US citizen for at least 15 yr,  a Georgia resident for at least 6 years,4 yr term, 2 consecutive a candidate must win a statewide election by popular vote. enforcing laws, appointing people to state offices, signing bills into laws, suggesting new state programs and laws, and proposing and directing the state budget. Lieutenant governor has the same qualifications except the terms are not limited. The Lieutenant governor serves as governor when he/she is out, makes governors appointments, etc.
  • Federal appellate courts are called courts of appeals. Cases can be further appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Cases are heard for the first time in a trial court. If either party disagrees with the decision in the trial court, they can appeal, asking a higher court to review the decision.
  • Criminal law is people hurting people or committing a crime, civil law are arguments between citizens settled in court.
