  • Off to Washington to help those soldiers that need my help.
  • Dorothea was an Army nurse for the Union Army.
  • Thank you for taking care of my wounds.
  • Dorothea Dix helping soldiers during the war. (April 1861)
  • You're welcome. And please take care of yourself.
  • She created the first generation of American mental hospitals which helped a lot of men during the war.
  • After 2 years, she was sent back home because she was menatally ill.
  • I don't feel so well.
  • Before the war, she stated teaching Sunday school at a women's prison. Most of them were ill, and that was when she started helping them.
  • She argued with officers and nurses which made them them dislike her.
