Storyboard Text

  • Animals
  • Miscarriage
  • Music
  • The way people treat animals is a representation of what they feel in their morals. For an example, the turtle is treated kindly and harshly by different sorts of people. Tom, for example, goes out of his way to murder a rattlesnake in the beginning of the novel. But then, Tom’s character changes when he yells at for trying to hit a rattlesnake with his car.
  • Miscarriage is what all migrants experience. Through travels and pain, it is bound to happen. A miscarriage represents not being able to create life in racist, cruel environments. Uncle John experiences miscarriage when he mourns the loss.
  • Music has always brought people together in dark times. People have relied on music to get by for centuries. Music brought the Joad’s together at a lot of times. Especially in the car on Route 66. Music has been proven time and time again to be found in unlikely places, which is proclaimed throughout the novel.
