  • The background information about the story.Witchcraft is present a puritan society.The Reverends are trying to accuse people of possessing witchcraft. It represents individualism vs authority because innocent lives are being tried by a biased jury.
  • Part IV
  • After Mary gets yelled at by the proctors for attending the court. She explains to Goody that she saved her life today as her name came up in court.She plays a huge role throughout the plot and cracks under the pressure when the cases are taking place. 
  • The End
  • There is a complication between Giles and Parris.Giles is an old man who is very outspoken. He doesn't understand how to act in a court. It adds on to the conflict by further annoying the judges and making them less convinced that witchcraft is false.

  • This is a quote coming from the African Ameican maid Tituba.She is an easy scapegoat and is blamed for witchcraft. Although she is innocent she lies and pleads guilty to avoid death. This shows that the problem of witchcraft has not been solved.

  • Justice was not served as the town man John Proctor was hung.He did it to save his family's reputation.His legacy will live on for generations to come.
