I am appointing you to be Arch-bishop of Canterburry
Thomas Cranmer was born on the 2ndJuly 1489 in Aslacton, Nottinghamshire, England. He was the second son to Thomas C and Agnes Cranmer. He had a caring and supportive family.
Imprisonment by Queen
During Thomas's early childhood, King Henry Vll was the current ruler. He asked to get a divorce from his wife. He was denied the divorce and then claimed that the catholic church was not loyal to him and instead to the pope. So he turned to protestants to allow the divorce.
signs the recantation of protestantism
King Henry appoints Thomas Cramner the archbishop of Canterbury.
Gets sentenced to death by fire
After the accession of the Catholic Mary I, Cranmer was put on trial for treason and heresy. He was Imprisoned for over two years and under pressure from Church authorities, he made several recantations and apparently reconciled himself with the Catholic Church.
Cranmer wrote a recantation of Protestantism, in hope of being freed from prison and allowed to live his life to his own accord. But this isn't the case.
Thomas gets burnt at the stake. This was his punishment of treason and heresy. But even at deaths doors he sticks by his beliefs. Cranmer wrote a recantation of Protestantism, but he denied that recantation as he was being burnt.
I have contributed all i can to the church. I will fix my mistake by burning the hand that offended first.
