- Ok class. You have a project to find out about your family history and how your family ended up in America. You can ask any family member you would like. Have fun with it and learn from it.
- It is 2045, Emma Hassan is assigned a history project to find out about their family history and how they ended up in America. She is going to ask her mom, Adi, to tell her everything she knows about their family history.
- Later that day at home. Emma: Hi Ima. I have this school project where I have to find out about our family history and I thought you would be the best person to come to. Adi: Shalom Emma. Betach she ani yecholah lazor lach eem ha protect shelach.
- Adi is telling the family history.Adi: I will start from our family's story at Mezada. ...
- Wow! I want to go to AMHSI one day. i will after that move to Israel and join the army and raise my kids there.
- Emma: wow our family history is so interesting. now tell me about you and how you got to AmericaAdi: Ok. your grandparents met in America and decided to raise kids there. I was born in Miami Florida but in high school went on this program that completely changed me. This program called AMHSI gave me the opportunity to live, learn, and travel in Israel for 4 months. I got to form a deeper and more personal connection to Israel and made me want to join the army and live there before I raised you in America. This program is so rare because its different to learn about in a classroom than actually seeing and experiencing it.
- Adi: I moved to Israel to form a deeper connection to the food, land, and people/community and joined the IDF, but like I said I decided to raise kids in America and for work.Emma: wow that is very cool and i loved learning about my history.
- Emma's family history makes her want to be more connected to her identity and her country.
