Storyboard Text

  • Today class, we will be learning about physical changes.
  • What is a physical change then?
  • A physical change involves all of the states of matter.
  • So how do you know if it is a physical change?
  • In a physical change the tempurature or the pressure will change.
  • But what is the difference between physical and chemical changes?
  • In a chemical change, atomic bonds are broken or created. Chemical changes happen at the molecular level.
  • What would be an example of a physical change?
  • And in a physical change, no atomic bonds are broken or created, and nothing new is made. Everything stays the same, even though the shape will change.
  • Melting ice is a good example. Even though the ice is changing form and turning back into water, it is still water, it has just changed states.
