  • The Catharsis of the story is his journey to find out who killed the king, him discovering who he really is, and what will happen as a consequence to it.

  • The Hamartia of the story is his unintended flaws such as killinh his father, trying tofind the killer whenits him, and marrying his mother.

  • The Hubris of the story is his excessive pride and self confidence.

  • Dramatic irony takes place in many parts of the story but one of them is when Oedipus marries the queen not knowing it was his birth mother and only the audience knew.
  • The symbolism in the story is the crossroads which symbolizes you having a choice in what you do or if its fate.
