Status Quo: This is Annie. She is a lonely farmhouse girl.
Call to Adventure: One day, a robin came to her, calling "Come! Follow me!"
Assistance: Annie's father, fortunately, was watching the whole thing from afar. As he walked to her, she asked, "Should I go listen to some crazy bird, Dad?" "Well, Annie, it's up to you, but you don't get a chance to get out of here much. And hey! It could be fun."
Departure: Annie left the farm, having no idea where she was going. She walked in the direction that the robin had went.
Trials: Annie eventually caught up with the robin, but it led her through a pack of wolves. She had a pebble in her pocket that she had collected on her journey. She threw it swiftly and quickly so that the wolves wouldn't notice. It hit a nearby tree, and the wolves forgot about her and tore in that direction.
Approach: Annie ran into an even darker part of the woods than she was in before. The robin was nowhere to be seen, and for the first time in her whole life, she felt alone. Even on her journey she felt as if her family was close by. Now, she felt hopeless. She was going to die out here.
