Ally is comparing how people see her to the ingredients label on a can of soup. She thinks that when people see that she is a slow reader, they instantly know all about her. These people are wrong in their opinions.

Ally thinks that she is dumb and after Mrs. Hall looked at Ally like she was going to spray her with cleaner, Ally thinks that she should be sprayed to get rid of her stupidity.
Oliver is explaining to Ally about how reading is normally. Ally is interested in this conversation because she wants to know what reading is like for everybody else.
Ally is criticizing Travis's car by thinking that it will never go fast or "fly". Ally is obviously not a huge fan of the car but she will become accustomed to it later in the novel.
Ally's extensive imagination is expressed furthermore because she refers the sound of a car to a giant coughing. A normal person with a normal imagination would not have thought of a giant.
