  • Expostion
  • Rising action
  • Climax
  • When the Theseus escaped from the labyrinth, King Minos flew into a rage with its builder, Daedalus, and ordered him to shut up in a high tower that faced the lonely sea.  Line 1-3. This shows them stuck in a tower.
  • Falling Action
  • Soon Icarus was sure that he, too, could fly and, raising his arms up and down, Skirted over the white sand and even out over the waves. Line 35-37. This shows when he is going to start flying.
  • Resolution
  • But the enchanted boy did not notice them until the sun became so hot that the largest feathers dropped off and he began to sink.Line 73-75. This part Icarus is falling into the ocean and starts drowning.
  • Theme
  • He gathered the boy in his arms and flew to land, the tips of his wings dragging in the water from double burden they bore. Line  83-86. This is the part when Daedalus was taking his son.
  • He arrived safely in Sicily, where he built a temple to Apollo and hung his wings as an offering to the god, in the wings he pressed a few bright feathers he had found floating on the water where Icarus fell. Line 90-93. This part is when Daedalus took his dead son to barry him.
  • The whole theme at the end is freedom all they wanted was freedom and only one of them got to be happy with it.
