The Americans had to retreat from the British because they were getting beat so badly. American soldiers were dying left and right. They were over power by a lot. They had no other choice but to retreat.
They Defeated the Hessians
They reformed their army so they could cross the river and defeat the Hessians. Some of the major problems were lack of weapon and lake of men from being attacked by British.
Captain Rall Died
They got the boats and loaded them with their soldiers and they paddle to fight the Hessians. One of the problems they faced was timing. Washington was stressed about how slow they were taking to load the boats.
Washington went to say goodbye to Rall
The Americans defeated the Hessians. The hessians surrendered to the Americans. Not a single American died.
Captain Rall was sitting on his horse trying to decide if they should surender or try and keep fighting and he took to long and an American Soldier shot him and they look him back to a nurse.
As Rall was laying on the bed dying from being shot, Washington refused to come into the room but then he finally did and Rall told him not to take too much from his men because they worked to hard. Then he passed.
