Storyboard Text

  • Edward the confessor is the king of England. But he is ill.
  • Edward had no children when he died. His only blood relative was an infant at the time. He was not favored to be king at the time.
  • Harold Godwinson gave himself the crown. But there were 2 other men that claimed they had the right to the throne.
  • William, Duke of Normandy and Harold Hardrada, Norwegian King.  These two men said they had the right the to the throne. 
  • Harold H. gathered his army and traveled to invade England from the North. But after his first defeat he retreated outside the city of York. Harold G. surprised him and killed him and his army, but during the battle his own army has suffered a lot.
  • As William heard of Harold G. being in the North. William gathered his army and sailed to the South of England. Harold had to travel to the South quickly to meat Williams army. Harold's army held them off for a while at the top of Senlac Hill. eventually though William army got through and Harold was killed.
  • After William's victory at the Battle of Hastings.  He gave thanks for victory by founding an altar.
