I HAVE SO MUCH WORK TO DO TODAY! I HATE BEING A SERF!
Okay my Vassals, today...
In Feudalistic Society
Most Nobles lived in manors. On their manors, had serfs, or slaves, that worked their land in exchange for protection. Nobles also provided protection for peasants.
Vassals, were noblemen of lower class that were given land from their lords, higher class noblemen. Vassals pledged their military service, and paid taxes on the land to their lord.
King vs. Nobles
Nobles had knights, that they had to provide to their king for military service. Knights were very wealthy nobles.
Nobles are highest ranking class in the Feudal Pyramid. Along with being called nobles, they are called dukes, counts, and lords.
Peasants & Serfs
Although the King was in charge of his kingdom, Nobles often had more power then him. They protected peasant, provide serfs work, and took care of Vassals and Knights. This led many of the people turn to their lords.
