Storyboard Text

  • The Cell Theory is the theory that all living things are made up of cells.
  • One way to observe cells is through a microscope, which have been developed throughout the decades into the modern forms we have today.
  • There are two main different types of cells, Plant Cells (Left) and Animal Cells (Right)
  • Plant Cells have many organelles (parts of a cell), including the Nucleus (where the DNA of the cell is secured), Mitochondria (generates energy needed for the cell's biochemical reactions), the Cell Wall which keeps the cell safe from outside threats and holds it shape and the Chloroplasts which is where photosynthesis takes place. Theses are always found in plants.
  • Animal cells have many of the organelles that plant cells do although not all of them. They have the Nucleus, the Vacuole (where energy and water is stored), the Cell Membrane which decides what can and cannot enter the cell.
  • Cells provide structure and function for all living things, from microorganisms to humans to elephants. Cells are absolutely necessary for life, without them there would be no living things.
