King George III began his reign at the end of the French and Indian war. He said that the settlers must stay east of the Appalachian Mountains and Indians to the west. King George started the Stamp Act putting taxes on all paper goods. The colonists were mad and started protests against the stamp act. H also started other Laws like the Quartering Act.
Charles Townshend started the Townshend Acts which put taxes on everything brought by Great Britain. Once Charles died Lord North became the new leader he repealed the Townshend acts except for tax on tea.
