The settlers arrive to Roanoke to get gold, silver because they wanted to be rich. Sir Richard Grenville left 100 men on the island and returned to England to get supplies.
John White tells all the Colonists that we should gather food and and shelter so they would be prepared for the winter. No one listened though and they started mining for gold. So John White left and it became starving time.
They did not have enough food supplies or shelter after John White left. John White also left the colony without a leader. Native Americans and Colonists did not like each other, they weren't prepared at all.
