Siddhartha Gautama was born a prince in Nepal, his father was king. When Siddhartha was born his father went to a fortune teller to find what his son will become in his later life. He said that his son could become a king or a spiritual leader. But all his father wanted was for him to become king.
Siddhartha was born into a very wealthy and luxury family. His father always kept him away from anything unpleasant. For example, the poor, sad, sick or dead people. The reason his father kept him away from these people is because he didn´t want Siddhartha to have empithy for them.
When Siddhartha was 29 he snuck out of the palace to go and see what the truth is. He wanted to see the sad, the sick, and the poor. He has never even known about what has been going on behind his back.
Siddhartha went out on a mission to find the truth. When he found what was really going on, he took it into his own hands. He wanted to become one of them.
Siddhartha pushed himself to be sad and he wanted to know what it was like to be one of them. He thought he had finally found the truth. He would starve himself and try to feel sad.
Siddhartha regained his strength and finally found the truth. One day he sat under a tree and meditated there for 49 days. When he finally understood that when you escape the bad you reach enlightenment.
