The protagonist in this story changes bodies every single day. Her name is A and she is positive, loving, and has a lot of self discipline. A is a round character because she wakes up in a different body everyday which makes her character complex. Her character is also dynamic because A used to wake up and live the life of the people but when she meets Rhiannon she messes with these people lives and puts them in danger just to see Rhiannon.
"I don't think I can do this... I want to. Really, I do. But how A? I just don't see how its possible." (page 278)
The antagonist is a girl named Rhiannon and she is a shy and loving person. Rhiannon's character is round because she is very complex and she is very important to A. She is also dynamic because she starts out a very shy person with no power, but when A comes into her life, she opens up her shell and her true personality comes out.
"I wake up. Immediately I have to figure out who I am...opening my eyes and discovering whether the skin on my arm is light or dark, whether my hair is long or short, whether i'm fat or thin, boy or girl." (page 1)
In the novel Everyday, David Levithan develops the idea that everyone has a purpose in life and love can give it to you. Before A met Rhiannon, she didn't know what her purpose in life was, but then Rhiannon made her want to wake up the next day and want to be alive.
"So the wind taks over, blows our hair all around, makes it seem like the car has disappeared and we are the velocity, we are the speed." (page 11)
This quote shows suspense because all throughout the book we think that A and Rhiannon will work things out and end up together. But when Rhiannon says things like this we start to wondering what is going to happen and it gives us a lot of suspense.
Everyday A wakes up in a new body and they can be all different people with all different personality's. This gives the story a fun mood and keeps you wanting to read more.
This quote is a good example of imagery. In this quote I can picture exactly how fast they were going and how the wind was hitting their face, creating smiles on their faces.
