In the Monsters are Due on Maple Street there are three key parts. The first key part is when Charlie keeps accusing everybody like Steve for working on his radio in his basement ant his home. The second key part is when Tommy starts explaining the plot of a comic book and it scares Charlie. The final part is when Charlie gets the shotgun and kills Pete Van Horn. When Charlie starts accusing people it reinforces the point of not to act on impulse because by saying this and that about who is not as they seem and who is a fake. By doing this when Mr.Goodman's car starts Charlies initial reaction is that Goodman is the Monster. Out of fear and impulse the there people on maple street believe him and form a mob in front of Goodman's house. This Therefore scares Goodman so he makes everyone else take a step back or threaten to give them trouble. The second key part is when Tommy scares everyone by telling them that the minsters don't want the people of maple street to leave. When Tommy mentions this Charlie mentions that since Tommy knows so much about the monsters then he could be one and that nobody could trust him. When Charlie points this out Tommy's mother says that you have know our family for a while and we couldn't be monsters. The final component is when Charlie kills Pete Von Horn with the shotgun. Out of fear and impulse a man that just wanted the check the power is now dead. An innocent man. When Pete dies Charlie gets scared and starts to make excuses like 'he didn't know it was him' or 'I was scared'.
