  • "I'm going to teach you how to walk, Doodle" This reveals that... William wants to teach doodle how to walk so he dosen't have to carry him on his back all the time. Making William more caring because he's trying to help doodle out by walking.

  • "So I began to make plans to kill him by smothering him with a pillow"(Hurst 317). This reveals that...our narrator (william's brother) is selfish because he would rather his brother be dead than not all in the head.

  • Doodle had died by falling on the earth backwards. He was bleeding from the mouth and his neck and the front of his shirt was stained brilliant red ( Hurst 323). This reveals that...William really did care for his brother and that he was very upset and he was also confused about what was happening.
  • Doodle's hand trembling while he reached out to touch the casket, he screamed ( Hurst 318) This reveals that...doodle is scared of touching the casket.
