  • Age 3 -By  age  3, children  can do little  tasks that are simple.  At 3  a  child can balance  enough to walk along a plank.   The child also can attempt to ride a bike. They can help you dress themselves by undoing a button or buttoning their shirt.  They can do little tasks that are helpful and important  for the child's growth.
  •    Age 4- At age 4 the child starts to look more like a toddler and not an infant.    The child can walk confidently, one foot each step, up and down the stairs.  The toddler can also be comfortable throwing and catching a ball.  This is the age where children get the gist of hand eye coordination.
  • Age 5- At age 5 a child’s ability to hop, skip, run and jump really starts to develop at this age. They will have good balance and better coordination.  At this age the back yard games get more risky. This is the age where bikes, scooters, and jump rope come into play.  The child may be able to handle what they feel the game is but not the rules of the actual game.  Their muscles become more fine.  They master the ability for hand utensils.
  • Development Delays-Development delays can be treated by physical therapy.  The therapist will problem-solve with you about your family's routines and environment and come up with the best solution.   The physical therapist can give detailed guidance on building motor skills 1 step at a time to reach established goals
