  • Denise
  • Bernita Roberson and her Sunday School class felt a bomb go off. Bernita knew how that felt like because she lived across the street from Bethel Baptist.
  • Word got to them that they had bombed sixteenth street, where the children were in Sunday school. Her Sunday School immediatly turned out and everyone got together in prayer.
  • I'm so sad
  • Bernita was a friend of Denise McNair. Her Grandfather owned a cleaners, and she knew Denise from there.
  • Don't be angry and forgive
  • Bernita was the flower girl for her funeral. Seeing the three families and the three coffins was devastating and a really sad sight.
  • She was very confused as to why anyone would try to hurt children. There was also conflicting feelings such as anger.
  • Bernita was taught not to be angry, an instead to forgive people. Things were happening so fast during that time, she didn't know what to expect next. She told herself that anger and sorrow were just a part of trying to get accomplished what you wanted.
